Posted by gmarkets on 3 October, 2007

With 89 people already dead in flooding in Khartoum, capital of Sudan, heavy rains that washed away homes and spread waterborne disease were continuing, reported The Courier Mail (23/8/2007, p. 40).

Worst flood in living memory: Sudanese officials said this year’s floods were the worst in living memory with unexpectedly early rains destroying more than 70,000 homes. Heavy flooding in some states had destroyed latrines and polluted water supplies, spreading deadly waterborne diseases like cholera and malaria.
